Third Annual Paint the Night Red Heart Healthy Event

Rockledge, Florida (February 13, 2017) – Wuesthoff Health System and the American Heart Association is inviting members of the community to Paint the Night Red for Heart Health on Tuesday, February 28. The event will run from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Wuesthoff Medical Center—Rockledge Café, 110 Longwood Ave., Rockledge, FL 32955. Open free to the public with complimentary valet parking available, Paint the Night Red for Heart Health features lectures, health screenings, education forums, giveaways and hors d'oeuvres. Participants will also be able to tour the hospital’s cardiac catheterization lab and see firsthand some of the latest technology in diagnosing and treating heart problems. Lectures are scheduled in succession at 5:30 p.m. and 6:15 p.m., so participants can attend both. The speakers are David Sims, MD, who will present “Heart Health,” and Holly Brennan, RD, LDN, whose topic is “Heart-Healthy Nutrition,” also featuring Chef Patrick Lee. Karen Bole, a past attendee of Paint the Night Red, said the event provided “an opportunity to meet local healthcare providers, talk about issues specific to women's health and learn or be reminded of ways to protect ourselves as we age.” She added, “Not only did we get all of this information, but we had lots of laughs, healthy snacks and chances to win great prizes.”

“This is an excellent opportunity for the public to come out and gain some important knowledge about heart health,” said Andy Romine, interim chief executive officer at Wuesthoff Medical Center—Rockledge. “We have some outstanding speakers and a number of screenings taking place. It’s an educational and fun event. We’re hoping for a strong turnout.”
