Rockledge Regional Medical Center Earns An ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group for Second Straight Grading Period

“A” Grade for Spring 2024 from The Leapfrog Group is a national recognition for patient safety

Rockledge, Florida (May 1, 2024) – Rockledge Regional Medical Center, a Steward Family Hospital, earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog that sets standards for excellence in patient care.  Twice a year, Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries, and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.

“Today’s recognition from The Leapfrog Group reinforces our past achievements and highlights the consistent focus of our teams on high quality patient centered outcomes,” said Tom Bowden, President of Rockledge Regional Medical Center. “The physicians and staff at Rockledge Regional are members of the Brevard County community and have a strong commitment to providing the very best care to their friends, family, and neighbors. We take our mission of community centered care seriously and are proud to be recognized as a top performing hospital.”

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program exclusively based on hospital prevention of medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day nationally. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually in the fall and spring.

“Everyone who works at Rockledge Regional Medical Center should be proud of this ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “It takes complete dedication at every level, and an ironclad commitment to putting patients first. I thank Rockledge Regional Medical Center, its leadership, clinicians, staff, and volunteers for caring so deeply for its patients and their safety.”
